Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dentist to join our team. This part-time role, (12 hours per week), will focus on providing dental care to a diverse patient population within a juvenile correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to high-quality dental care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and emergency dental services.
  • Diagnose and treat oral health issues, including gum disease, cavities, and other dental problems.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care practices to maintain long-term dental health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the overall well-being of patients.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards within a correctional facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Valid California dental license.
  • At least one year of clinical dental experience, preferably in a correctional, public health, or underserved population setting.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong diagnostic, treatment, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a correctional facility or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with dental care for underserved populations.
  • Continuing education or certifications in areas such as public health dentistry or oral surgery.

Special Conditions:

  • This position is part-time, totaling hours per week.10-20 per week
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule based on facility needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
