Job Summary
The Dentist diagnoses and treats dental conditions, injuries, and irregularities of the oral cavity and related tissues and provides education regarding prevention and oral hygiene.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Administrative Functions:
Coordinate the preparation of reports and written documentation as required by the department, company, and State and Federal agencies
Maintain proper, detailed, and accurate dental records
Travel between clinics to work, as needed
Be on-call, as scheduled, by the Director of Dental Services
Assist Clinic Manager/Director of Dental Services in supervising the dental staff and assuring that clinic is compliant with State and Federal guidelines
Meet productivity goals, as set by DAP Health, assist the Clinic Manager, andwork with dental staff to accomplish those goals
Maintain a professional demeanor with patients, staff, and administration
Supervise Dental Assistants
Understand the organization’s commitment to provide high quality patient care and promote a patient-centered environment
Perform other tasks, as directed by the Director of Dental Services, as needed to meet clinic or organization goals

Examine, diagnose, and treat dental conditions to provide optimum care to patients
Consult with the patient/parent/guardian and advise them of dental status and required treatment
Educate patients regarding oral conditions, provide treatment options, and explain to the patient/parent/guardian the risks, benefits, and alternatives of each option
Treat dental conditions for patients of all ages, and if unable to provide a particular service, provide the patient with the appropriate specialty referral (Board certified/qualified Pedodontists are exempted from treating adult patients)
Treat soft/hard tissues diseases of the oral cavity, perform surgery on oral tissues, when necessary, render prosthetic treatment, when indicated, and design and place orthodontic appliances for interceptive orthodontics
Provide quality care to the patients of DAP Health, within the scope of practice outlined by state and/or federal law
Deliver care in accordance with established standards of care and accepted community standards
