Marana Health is seeking a Dentist - to join the Dental team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in Marana, Arizona. The Dentist – will promote and maintain patients’ health by providing comprehensive dental services. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 10 sites in the Greater Tucson area. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Dentistry; required.
  • Current Arizona State DDS/DMD license; required.
  • Current DEA registration and registration in the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy's Controlled Substances Prescription Drug Monitoring program; required.
  • Current CPR certification; required.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patient, performing visual examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical and dental health histories.
  • Determines abnom,al conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting the test results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records and writing notes within 72 hours.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by ordering and/or administering injections, suturing, managing wounds and infections, and performing corrective, preventive and/or restorative procedures.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, providing counseling on problems of daily care, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Aids in monitoring, orienting and assisting dental residents.
  • Develops dental care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
  • Aids Dental Director in the clinical supervision of staff, contributing information regarding staff's clinical performance and discussing .clinical requirements.
  • Serves on committees aimed at compliance, quality assurance and management, and performs peer reviews as required.
  • Maintains clinic standards of care by adhering to the Arizona State Board of Dentistry and those of other governing agencies.
  • Adheres to expectations of required/mandatory in-services, certifications and licensure.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Participates in in-service/education regarding Quality Improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
