The Montana State Prison Dental Department is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dentist to join our healthcare team in delivering high-quality preventive and comprehensive dental care to incarcerated adult male offenders.
As part of the facility's healthcare services, the Dental Department provides a full spectrum of dental procedures—from routine cleanings and preventive care to complex restorative and prosthetic treatments. Working under the direction of the Director of Dental Services, the Dentist will serve a population of over 1,500 incarcerated adult males.
Provide comprehensive dental services, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of care.
Examine patients and diagnose dental/oral health conditions.
Prescribe and perform appropriate dental treatments.
Make impressions and measurements for dental appliances such as dentures, partials, and bridges.
Ensure all care complies with the Department’s administrative rules, agency policies, procedures, and the standards of the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).
QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
Graduate of an accredited Commission on Dental accreditation (CODA)-approved dental school.
Five years of active practice with no less than 3000 hours of clinical direct patient care.
Licensed by the Montana Board of Dentistry.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Tobacco Free - The use of all tobacco products, including smokeless tobacco products and tobacco substitutes is prohibited in Department of Corrections buildings. In secure care facilities possession of tobacco products is prohibited.
