Job Overview

The Department Manager Apparel at Reliance Retail is a full-time, mid-level position, located in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam. The role focuses on managing all apparel department operations, ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction, leading a dynamic team, and achieving sales targets. Maximum required work experience is 6 years.

  • Team Leadership (Mandatory skill): Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop store teams to achieve performance objectives efficiently and effectively.
  • Visual Merchandising: Proficient in implementing and maintaining attractive apparel displays, ensuring merchandise is presented according to brand guidelines for maximum appeal.
  • Retail Operations: Solid understanding of daily store operations, including inventory management, replenishment, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Customer Service: Proven capacity to deliver outstanding customer experiences by resolving queries, addressing complaints, and ensuring a seamless shopping journey for all customers.
  • Sales Forecasting: Experience in analyzing sales patterns, setting sales goals, and developing strategies to maximize business opportunities within the apparel department.
  • Staff Training: Skilled in onboarding, coaching, and providing ongoing training to staff to boost team performance and ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to monitor sales trends, evaluate department performance, and use data-driven insights to improve profitability and store efficiency.
  • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for successful collaboration with team members, senior management, and customers.

  • Manage the daily operations and performance of the Apparel department to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop department staff by setting clear goals and providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee the execution of visual merchandising strategies to create appealing displays and maintain brand consistency.
  • Monitor stock levels, coordinate with inventory control teams for replenishment, and execute inventory checks to minimize loss.
  • Develop and implement sales forecasting and business improvement strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements within the department.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to enhance customer loyalty and drive repeat business.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to keep the team updated on product knowledge, processes, and promotions.
