Department Manager – Grocery

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee all operations of the Grocery Department, ensuring maximum sales, profitability, product availability, and excellent customer service while maintaining quality, hygiene, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Commercial Performance

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets and KPIs
  • Monitor departmental sales trends, margins, and shrinkage
  • Plan and execute promotions, displays, and seasonal campaigns
  • Ensure optimum product assortment based on customer demand

2. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Maintain optimum stock levels to avoid overstocking or stock-outs
  • Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving items
  • Ensure accurate stock receiving, storage, and replenishment
  • Control shrinkage, damages, and expiries

3. Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Ensure proper planogram implementation
  • Maintain shelf availability, pricing accuracy, and labeling
  • Monitor visual merchandising standards and cleanliness
  • Ensure attractive and customer-friendly product displays

4. Customer Service

  • Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction
  • Handle customer complaints and queries professionally
  • Maintain a welcoming and helpful shopping environment

5. Reporting & Controls

  • Prepare daily/weekly reports on sales, stock, and variances
  • Monitor budget vs actual performance
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs75,000.00 per month
