Job Summary

Telerelation is seeking an experienced and technically strong Deputy BMS Controls Manager to oversee the installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) across construction and existing building projects. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on expertise in automation systems, a strong command of industry‑standard tools, and the ability to lead cross‑functional coordination to ensure seamless system integration and optimal building performance. This role requires a blend of technical depth, field experience, and leadership to ensure that all BMS activities meet project specifications, timelines, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and integrate BMS solutions into building designs.

· Oversee installation and wiring of controllers, sensors, actuators, and related field devices in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

· Program, configure, and test BMS systems using platforms such as JCI FX (Facility Explorer), Metasys, and Niagara.

· Conduct system commissioning, functional testing, and performance verification to ensure alignment with design intent.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation, programming, and commissioning phases.

· Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure the timely procurement, delivery, and installation of BMS components.

· Monitor system performance and analyze data to identify optimization opportunities and energy‑saving measures.

· Provide on‑site technical support and training to maintenance teams and end‑users on system operation and upkeep.

· Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including as‑built wiring diagrams, commissioning reports, and system logs.

· Support implementation of system upgrades, software updates, and enhancements as required.

· Ensure compliance with NY safety regulations, codes, and industry standards throughout installation and commissioning activities.

· Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables related to BMS installations and integrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Relevant technical certifications (e.g., N4, JCI) are preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of experience as a controls technician, automation engineer, or similar role.

· Hands‑on experience with JCI FX (Facility Explorer), Metasys, and Niagara tools.

· Strong understanding of control system protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON.

· Solid knowledge of building systems, automation principles, and BMS technologies.

· Proven experience in control system installation, wiring, programming, and commissioning.

· Familiarity with HMI applications, SCADA systems, and related software tools.

· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

· Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with project teams, contractors, and clients.

· Understanding of energy management practices and sustainability concepts is a plus.

· Ability to work on construction sites and adapt to evolving project requirements.
