As a Deputy CEO-Design and Engineering reporting into the CEO, working from our Design Studio at the Al Hudaiba Awards office in Dubai

Role Description:

The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in line with AZIZI Developments’ management requirements and is responsible for all aspects related to the production of a successful and constructable design packages including enforcement of processes, and quality assurance. In addition to the above, the optimum utilization of resources, enhancement of design to save time and cost, and to keep projects on planned schedule are included in the responsibility. The division under this position include Design Management, Studio Management, Architecture, Structure, MEPF, Interiors, Landscape design, Visualization and other miscellaneous Engineering via Sub Consultants. This position will be responsible for a running Studio 360 as an independent Consultant and yet seamlessly sync with AZIZI Developments work flow.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

• Set Vision, Mission and Philosophy for the Studio and drive team to achieve the Business goal.
• Plan, Recruit and Manage Human Resource, IT and Infrastructure needs for running the business as per AZIZI Developments’ requirement
• Manage intellectual property of the business, set out standard of care for deliver to SCALE up.
• Focus on three major aspects – Cost, Time, and Quality of existing and forth coming projects.
• Review all the Design aspects and provide inputs on enhancing the design in terms of value engineering.
• Provide inputs on upcoming projects to the Chairman and the Chief Development Officer.
• Review and enhance the efficiency of the projects.
• Monitor and follow up on the Commercial aspect with regards to the full design packages including PD and DD proposals in coordination with all design disciplines for the assigned projects.
• Assist in resolving any design issues as per authorities’ regulations
• Enforce compliance of coordination procedures with departments and take charge in resolving any coordination/engineering issues.
• Keep up of latest design requirements, NOCs, sustainability, and environmental requirements, and make team aware of these requirements
• Periodically review Projects Design progress with CDO to ensure compliance of project to initially set design direction, including monitoring project schedule and approved budget.
• Direct and manage the team to modify existing designs, based on management direction
• Follow-up, manage, and keep track of project changes and adjustments.
• Mentoring the team and providing guidance throughout work processes.
• Attend meetings with external consultants and authorities when needed

Skills:

• Ability to Redline submissions and check compliance to authority/client briefs and suggest design improvements.
• Ability to develop world class Management/Administration practices
• Demonstrated track record of delivering large real estate development (Premium Mixed-Use Complexes, and Hospitality Projects)
• Excellent Contract Management Skills
• Excellent team management
• Advanced negotiations skills to deal with potential external and internal “pain points”
• In depth knowledge of Design/Construction sequence and management
• Manage workflow with necessary Construction Management Software’s like PROCORE, ACONEX, PLANGRID etc.,
• Well conversant with IBC, DM Codes, NFPA, UDC or any other relevant to the project and scope.

Minimum Qualification and Experience Bachelor/Master’s degree in Architecture/Construction Management or equivalent Licensed Architect/Engineer as per AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) 20+ years of managing delivery of complex projects.
