JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the CEO in leading the project company operations, people and processes to ensure contractual, regulatory and reporting obligations are met. The Deputy CEO will assist the CEO to oversee and monitor operations by the O&M contractor for the profitable, sustainable and safe operation of the plant.

Support the CEO in achieving compliance with commercial contracts (PWPA, O&M Agreement)

Assist, and represent the project company where appropriate, in discussions with regulatory bodies and government agencies

Leadership pf the company’s Enterprise Risk Management process, ensuring risks are quantified and effective mitigation is maintained up to date

Work with CEO, CFO and CTO to develop company’s short and long-term business plans with input from O&M Contractor and shareholders

Main contact for issues related to operation of the company’s insurance policies and the relationships with insurers and brokers

Provide technical oversight to the development of Valid Invoices to the Offtaker

Lead people matters such as developing goals and measuring performance to the approved goals; staff retention and organizational development; liaison to the public, government, affiliated organizations, and other stakeholders;

Provide full support in development of organizational targets to CEO. Acting CEO in the absence of CEO with assigned authority.

Ensures compliance to local regulations, grid connection conditions, environmental, social and others

Work with CEO to maintain/develop effective relationships with key stakeholders including Offtaker, government agencies, project company Board of Directors and Shareholders.

Assist in early detection of Enterprise Risks that may harm the financial health and reputation of the project company.

Contributes to the development of annual goals and objectives; ensures that company procedures and overall management procedures are designed in accordance with established Board policy and keeping the Board informed of existing or impending Board Policy issues.

Actively participate in the achievement of high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental management, including leading HSSE forums and initiatives as appropriate. Set example of strong leadership and concern for HSSE.

Monitor the performance of the O&M contractor and ensure compliance with its contract terms.

Maintains a productive relationship with O&M contractor.

Works with CEO to create and maintain an organizational environment that promotes positive staff moral and performance

Motivate and maintain a competent, well-trained, flexible and responsive staff capable of meeting current and future needs

Maintain a fully staffed company by preparing a staff recruitment plan and implementing the plan after board approval.

Assist in developing and maintain an annual Board approved plan for the development and succession of management

Establish and maintain relationships with the relevant segment of the local community leadership, industry and business community.

Supervise administrative and human resources activities.

Prepare and implement a training plan to achieve maximum possible Nationalization and coordination with technical colleges in this regard

Hire, train, motivate, direct, coach and develop, evaluate and retain high performers at the Project Company. Manages effective talent review and succession planning programs to ensure sustainable operations.

Adhere to regulatory nationalization requirements.

Support the implementation of approved policies, processes, and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard.

Contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes, and projects in line with the organisation’s standards.
Minimum Qualifications

B. Sc Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering and Degree in Business Management.
Minimum years of Experience
-
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in management in the Power Plant industries, including at least 3 years as a senior-level manager experience is strongly preferred.

Related experience covering management operational activities.
