Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Top edit and write content across news, politics, and celebrity verticals for ELLE.com
- Develop and lead strategy for ELLE’s news & politics coverage, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s voice and drives audience growth
- Manage and mentor a talented team of digital editors, helping them develop their editorial voice and meet performance goals
- Oversee the execution of major editorial franchises with a 360-degree content approach
- Collaborate cross-functionally with advertising, audience development, and commerce teams to support shared editorial and business objectives
- Ensure all content meets high editorial standards, adheres to SEO best practices, and reflects the ELLE brand
- Maintain and grow a strong network of writers, reporters, and contributors
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
- 7+ years of experience in digital journalism or editorial roles
- Proven leadership experience, with at least 2 direct reports managed successfully
- Strong editing, writing, and top-line story packaging skills, particularly in politics, culture, and lifestyle
- Demonstrated understanding of audience development, SEO, analytics, and digital publishing best practices
- Familiarity with tools such as InCopy and knowledge of AP Style
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Based in the New York City office, with the ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week

The base salary for this role is between $83,000 - $104,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
