About The Team

OKX's Legal team provides legal advice and guidance across all coverage areas and geographic locations, and supports business growth by working with teams throughout the company. About The Opportunity

You will report to the Global Head of Regulatory based in Dubai, UAE and work closely with all members of the Global Legal team and business leaders. The focus will be on supporting OKX's Middle East Entity, GCC and CIS markets.

The right candidate will have a basic understanding of and enthusiastic belief in the cryptocurrency/digital asset space, 12+ years of experience working for a top law firm or in house, strong academic credentials, and excellent writing and analytical skills. Experience with financial services, cryptocurrency/digital assets, and securities laws (e.g., VARA, ESCA) is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for regulatory matters across the Middle East and CIS, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kazakhstan and adjacent markets.
  • Lead engagement with financial regulators- including licensing applications, regulatory notifications, RFI responses and ongoing supervisory relationships, ensuring business maintains and expands regulatory permissions.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory implications of new product launches such as digital asset trading products, derivatives, stablecoins, payment instruments and earn/staking offerings, focusing on jurisdiction specific restrictions and approval pathways.
  • Monitor and analyse regulatory developments across target markets, translating changes into actionable guidance.
  • Partner with external counsel on complex regulatory matters, managing outside counsel relationships effectively and cost efficiently.
  • Handle regulatory correspondence, enforcement matters, and where necessary, manage relationships with law enforcement and government authorities.
  • Provide legal input on marketing materials, product terms and contractual arrangements to meet local regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with global Legal, Compliance, Government Relations and Product teams to deliver a joined up regulatory strategy.
Qualifications
  • Law degree and eligibility to practice as an advocate.
  • 12+ years of experience at a top tier law firm or in house legal team, preferably in financial services or crypto industry.
  • Experience advising on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology legal issues or strong interest and knowledge in the field.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast paced, growth stage and multi cultural environment.
  • Ability to advise and build trust with business teams.
  • Ability to navigate a rapidly changing legal landscape and deal with ambiguity.
  • Experience working in a high functioning legal team and collaborating effectively.
  • Self starter, quick learner, highly driven, proactive, responsive and precise.
  • Experience with cross jurisdictional matters and a global legal team.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
