Strategic Roles & Responsibilities

Mobilize, coordinate, and lead site teams and contractors for successful execution of mechanical works.

Prepare detailed work schedules with activity-wise planning aligned with the master project plan in consultation with Planning Head at HO.

Monitor project progress through MIS reports, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to meet timelines and quality standards.
-
Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and highest quality standards.
-
Prepare and maintain a Risk Register and Claim Register, update regularly, and implement mitigation strategies.
-
Certify contractor invoices and forward for timely payment processing.
-
Prepare and track extra item lists based on GFC drawings and amendments, coordinate with HO for approvals.
-
Flag potential site and contractor issues requiring HO intervention in advance.
-
Identify and mitigate risks related to timelines, cost overruns, and contractual disputes; propose solutions to Project Director.

Coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders for issue resolution and progress updates.

Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies and safety standards during execution.
-
Administer contracts at site for statutory compliance and approvals.
-
Mobilize resources in case of contractor performance gaps.

Take independent decisions to ensure timely project within budget.

Coordinate with Engineering Team to resolve drawing issues and with Techno-Commercial Team for PO-related matters.

Support BOQ, RFQ, and proposal preparation activities.
-
Certify contractor bills and initiate NFAs for changes/modifications as required.
Operational Responsibilities

Implement company systems and processes at site, including documentation of DPR, WPR, MPR, reconciliation reports, quality reports, safety reports, GRNs, etc.

Introduce innovative construction methods and value engineering practices to reduce timelines and costs.

Monitor deployment of resources (machinery, manpower, materials) and ensure a healthy work environment.

Optimize resource utilization and ensure smooth functioning of construction activities.

Plan training and succession for team development.
People Management

Identify training needs for site execution team members.
-
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and motivate the team for high performance.

Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the power/industrial sector.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience:
15–24 years in mechanical erection and project execution for large industrial projects.
