Deputy Manager Assessment - STEM

Description:

The Deputy Manager - Assessment STEM will be responsible for developing mathematics papers for grades 3 till 10 and reviewing papers for all other STEM subjects (General Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science) to ensure they align with the syllabus and meet quality standards. The role also involves supervising a team of subject specialists, collaborating with them to design appropriate examination papers, and conducting their annual performance reviews. In a more strategic capacity, you will identify areas for improvement in STEM assessments, explore new ways to assess students contextually aligned with the curriculum and assessment frameworks.

  • Developing items and papers of mathematics from grade 3 till 10 according to the syllabus break-up, CLS and exam specification.
  • Review the papers of STEM subjects including General Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science
  • Ensuring that the item bank is effectively used for paper development and that the team regularly contributes in updating the bank with new items.
  • Supervise and collaborate with subject specialists to design examination papers that align with curriculum objectives, maintaining appropriate difficulty levels, cognitive level schema and adherence to examination formats.
  • Identify area of improvements and suggest new ways to assess students in STEM subjects keeping the alignment with assessment philosophy of TCF.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external teams on the matters related to STEM subjects.
  • Conduct the annual performance management of each associated subject specialist.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Urdu.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, Canva, MS Project, Google Suite, Power BI, Internet etc.).
  • Strong observation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and research abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Assessment Framework and the new national curriculum for all board classes.
  • Good knowledge of international assessment framework of STEM subjects.
  • Expertise in data-driven decision-making, with a proactive approach toward innovation and digital solutions.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strategic approach with the ability to align initiatives with organizational goals and culture.
  • Eagerness to stay updated on current assessment trends, approaches and educational research.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organization.

Education:

A four years Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics is required, and an additional Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education is a plus.

Experience:

At least 5 years of teaching along with at least 3 years in a management role.
