Deputy Manager, Process Engineering (HVAC)

Job Title: Deputy Manager – HVAC Project / Process Engineer,

Job Summary: To lead and execute greenfield and brownfield HVAC projects from design review to commissioning, ensuring systems meet GMP, regulatory, and operational requirements, while coordinating with cross-functional teams, consultants, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution (Greenfield & Brownfield)

• Execute HVAC projects for greenfield and brownfield facilities, including expansions, retrofits, and capacity enhancements.
• Review and finalize HVAC system design, layouts, P&IDs, URS, and technical specifications in coordination with consultants.
• Manage project activities from concept to handover, including installation, testing, commissioning, and qualification.
• Coordinate HVAC integration with process equipment, utilities, cleanrooms, and building services.
• Plan and monitor project timelines, milestones, and resource deployment.

2. Installation, Commissioning & Qualification

• Supervise HVAC installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Lead commissioning activities, air balancing, temperature & RH mapping support, and system optimization.
• Support and review DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ documentation and execution.
• Ensure system readiness for regulatory inspections and audits.

3. Operations & System Performance

• Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC systems post-handover.
• Monitor BMS and EMS systems, analyze trends, alarms, and deviations.
• Review HVAC preventive and breakdown maintenance strategies.
• Ensure energy efficiency, system reliability, and continuous improvement.

4. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with Cross Functional Teams (Engineering, QA, Production, EHS) and external vendors.
• Ensure preparation, review, and compliance of SOPs, logs, protocols, and validation documents.
• Escalate technical risks, deviations, and project issues with mitigation plans.
• Guide technicians and junior engineers during execution and routine activities.

Key Skills & Proficiency Levels

Qualification: BE / Diploma – Mechanical Engineering,
Experience: Minimum 8 –12 years in HVAC engineering, Mandatory experience in greenfield and/or brownfield HVAC project execution (pharmaceutical / regulated industry preferred).
