Deputy Manager Procurement

Job Purpose

To manage procurement activities for assigned categories through effective sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations, ensuring cost optimization, supply continuity, and compliance with company policies and procedures.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage local and international procurement in accordance with the Procurement Manual and Limit of Authority Manual (LOAM).
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver efficient procurement support.
  • Conduct market intelligence to identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify new and alternate suppliers to enhance competition and reduce supply risks.
  • Analyse spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, demand consolidation, and reduction of tail spend.
  • Negotiate and implement framework agreements and blanket orders to optimize expenditure and improve process efficiency.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable contractual terms.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and act as the focal point for issue resolution.
  • Ensure achievement of procurement KPIs and adherence to performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity for reporting, audit readiness, and informed decision-making.


Qualification, Experience & Skills

  • BE/BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR BBA/MBA from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in Engineering/MRO procurement within power generation, oil & gas, fertilizer, petrochemical, mining, or large manufacturing industries.
  • Experience working with Chinese suppliers will be an added advantage.
  • Comfortable working in an individual contributor role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong critical reasoning ability
  • Effective interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
