Role Purpose
To support the Project Manager in leading and coordinating all civil engineering and construction activities on-site, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, contract documents, and quality standards. The Deputy Project Manager acts as the second-in-command, overseeing site operations, progress monitoring, resource planning, and stakeholder coordination, and ensures smooth project execution in alignment with Innovo Group’s operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities

Project Execution & Control: Assist in managing the overall execution of the project’s civil scope in line with the approved schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Monitor day-to-day site operations, ensuring productivity, safety, and work progress as per plan.

Coordinate with technical office, site engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve construction issues and design discrepancies.

Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with the planning team to develop and update the project schedule.

Ensure resources (manpower, materials, and equipment) are available and utilized effectively.

Identify potential delays and propose corrective measures to stay on track.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all civil works are performed according to IFC drawings, technical specifications, and QA/QC plans.

Participate in inspections and audits and ensure documentation is maintained accurately.

Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and required decisions.

Track project KPIs related to cost, schedule, and quality.

Maintain updated logs of site issues, RFI responses, approvals, and pending matters.

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to facilitate approvals, inspections, and coordination activities.

Represent the Project Manager during meetings in his/her absence and ensure follow-up on action points.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Education: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Architectural Background)

Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience in civil construction projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership or coordination role on large-scale construction sites

Industry: Proven experience with general contracting firms in Egypt; Innovo Group or similar tier is preferred

Technical Skills: Solid understanding of construction techniques, project management tools, and civil engineering best practices

Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project)

Knowledge: Thorough understanding of local codes, contracts (FIDIC knowledge is a plus), and permitting processes

Familiarity with QA/QC standards, HSE regulations, and risk mitigation practices

Soft Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
