Design Civil Engineer - Wet Utilities, Surface Water, TSE irrigation, and Water Networks

Location: Qatar

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Design Civil Engineer (Wet Utilities) will be responsible for the design, review, and coordination of wet utility systems including surface water drainage, treated sewage effluent (TSE) irrigation networks, potable water, and firefighting water distribution systems. The engineer will ensure that all designs comply with local authority standards (Ashghal, Kahramaa, MoECC, etc.), project requirements, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs for wet utilities, water supply networks, stormwater drainage, surface water, and irrigation systems.
  • Prepare design drawings, technical reports, and design calculations in line with project specifications and authority standards.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and network analysis for water and stormwater systems.
  • Review and coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines (roads, structures, electrical, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (Ashghal, Kahramaa, etc.) and international design codes.
  • Support in the preparation of tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises and propose cost-effective design solutions.
  • Liaise with authorities for design submissions and approvals.
  • Provide technical input during design development, feasibility studies, and concept stages.
  • Maintain proper documentation and design records as per company QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of wet utilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong expertise in the design of water networks, stormwater drainage, and irrigation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks).
  • Good knowledge of local and international standards for water and stormwater design.
