Design Coordinator

Position Summary:

We are seeking a confident, dynamic and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join our team. The Design Coordinator leads clients through the selection process while ensuring all interior elements are cohesive, buildable and aligned with the overall construction plan. This role bridges design vision with construction execution, delivering a seamless experience from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide clients through all interior and exterior selections for custom home
• Prepare and present selections including flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, paint and trim details
• Collaborate closely with sales team, construction managers and purchasing manager to ensure design feasibility and accuracy
• Manage selection schedule to keep projects on timeline
• Assist clients in making selections within allowance/budget
• Source materials and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
• Address and resolve design-related issues during construction
• Stay current design trends, materials and building practices
• Manage Price Request/Change Order process to ensure selections are approved within timely manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
• 2-5+ years’ experience in residential design, preferably with a builder
• Strong knowledge in residential construction, materials and processes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and construction documents
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure seamless project execution
• Strong organizational and time management

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with custom home selections
• Knowledge of vendor networks for selections
• Ability to balance aesthetics with functionality and buildability
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Work Environment:

• Combination of office work and design center appointments
• Availability to work at Navasota and Katy office when needed (appointments or fill in)
• Frequent interaction with clients, vendors and construction team
• Fast-paced environment with multiple projects in various stages of construction

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
