We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design & Development Executive with hands-on experience in Gravure printing artwork preparation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling prepress design tasks, ensuring print-ready files, maintaining artwork archives, and managing the cylinders, and films. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality print output and timely job execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finalize artwork for gravure printing, ensuring proper color separations, trapping, and resolution.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to understand artwork requirements and implement design corrections or adaptations.
- Create mock-ups and design visualizations for customer approvals.
- Check artwork compatibility with gravure press specifications, and prepare print-ready files accordingly.
- Manage and maintain cylinders, films, positives, and digital files to ensure proper storage and retrieval.
- Coordinate with engraving vendors and internal teams for cylinder development and approval process.
- Ensure consistency in color standards, registration marks, and print guidelines across all designs.
- Keep records of artwork changes, approvals, cylinder life, and reusability of films/cylinders.
- Collaborate with the quality and production teams to troubleshoot any design-related printing issues.
- Stay updated on prepress software, printing techniques, and packaging trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in prepress design, specifically in gravure printing artwork..
- Familiar with cylinder manufacturing processes, file formats, and print file setup.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and their printing behavior (flexible packaging, laminates, etc.)
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
