Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized
Design Engineer
to join our
BEEAH Recycling
team. This role will be responsible for designing and drafting solutions for various waste treatment technologies and infrastructure related to municipal, healthcare, industrial hazardous, and fallen stock waste management. This role will require expertise in process design, layouts design, cross-sectional drawings, and preparation of detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for civil and electromechanical items. The Designer will also focus on implementing latest waste treatment technologies including MRF (Material Recovery Facility), Composting, RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) processing, Incineration, Autoclaves, Stabilization methods and Engineered landfill.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis: Gather, document, and analyze business requirements to identify insights, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Design & Layout Development: Prepare detailed layouts and cross-sectional drawings for municipal, healthcare, hazardous, and fallen stock waste treatment facilities.

Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated and implementable plant designs.

Bill of Quantities (BoQ): Develop accurate BoQs for civil, electromechanical, and infrastructure components, defining all material, labor, and equipment needs.

Waste Treatment Technologies: Design systems for MRFs, composting, RDF, landfills, remediation, and specialized facilities such as incineration and autoclave units.

Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all designs meet environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting energy-efficient and sustainable solutions.

Technical Reporting: Prepare design reports, specifications, and documentation; support project execution during construction and commissioning stages.

Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, facility operators, and clients; participate in design reviews and technical presentations.

Health & Safety Commitment: Uphold company HSE policies, practice safe design and site conduct, and participate in all mandatory safety trainings.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Data Science, Marketing, Design, or a related field.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Additional certification or courses related to waste management, environmental sustainability, or process engineering would be advantageous.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the design of waste management infrastructure, particularly in municipal, healthcare, hazardous, and fallen stock waste treatment.

Proven experience with technologies such as waste sorting, composting, RDF, incineration, autoclaving, stabilization processes and old dumpsites remediation.

Experience in creating layouts, cross-sectional designs, and technical documentation for civil and electromechanical systems.

Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, and sustainability practices.
Skills:

Design & Drafting Proficiency – Skilled in using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar design software to produce detailed technical layouts and engineering drawings.

Multidisciplinary Engineering Knowledge – Strong grasp of civil, mechanical, and electrical design principles related to waste management facilities and infrastructure.

Waste Treatment Technology Expertise – Solid understanding of waste processing systems including sorting, composting, RDF, incineration, autoclave, and landfill technologies.

Technical Documentation & BoQ Preparation – Experienced in preparing and interpreting Bills of Quantities, design specifications, and technical reports with accuracy.

Attention to Detail & Accuracy – High precision in developing technical drawings, cross-sections, and calculations, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.

Collaboration & Project Coordination – Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive, compliant, and sustainable designs.
