Design Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal design and fabrication to join our engineering team. The primary responsibility will be to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and flat patterns using CATIA V5/V6 or SolidWorks, ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies of sheet metal components and enclosures using CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Generate accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, flat patterns, and bend tables with proper tolerances and GD&T.
• Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) analysis specific to sheet metal processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, PEM insertion, powder coating, etc.).
• Collaborate with fabrication shop floor teams to resolve design-related issues and implement improvements.
• Convert customer requirements/sketches into production-ready designs.
• Update and maintain engineering documentation (BOMs, revision control, ECOs).
• Support prototyping, first-article inspection, and production ramp-up.
• Work with project managers and production teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years of proven experience in sheet metal design and fabrication (freshers with strong internship/project experience may be considered).
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 (preferred) or SolidWorks – specifically Sheet Metal, Part Design, Assembly, and Drafting workbenches.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, material selection (MS, SS, Aluminum, GI), bend allowances, K-factor, forming limitations, and weld symbols.
• Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) as per ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
• Experience creating flat patterns and DXF files for CNC laser/punch machines is a must.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
