Job Summary

Design, develop, and improve mechanical components and systems using CAD software. The role involves close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, fabricators, and research institutions. The position requires travel for technical discussions, project coordination, and product development support.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Product Development

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Modify and improve existing designs for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Participate in new product development and technology initiatives.

Production & Quality Improvement

• Work with production teams and fabricators to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Identify and implement improvements in production efficiency and product quality.
• Assist in resolving design-related production and quality issues.

Technical Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Travel to customer locations, supplier workshops, and fabrication facilities for technical discussions and project support.
• Coordinate with:
• Customers and stakeholders for understanding technical requirements
• Supplier workshops and fabricators for manufacturing feasibility
• Research staff in universities and R&D institutions for technology development
• Internal R&D team for product development
• Procurement team for technical specifications and vendor support
• Accounts team for technical clarifications related to costing and project requirements

Technical Support & Business Development

• Act as technical expert and consultant for customers.
• Support the sales team with technical inputs, product presentations, and proposals.
• Assist in identifying new business opportunities through technical interactions.

Continuous Learning & Market Awareness

• Stay updated on latest industry trends, technologies, and materials.
• Enhance technical and product knowledge continuously.
• Support innovation and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo or similar)
• Strong mechanical design fundamentals
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel for project and technical discussions
• Problem-solving and analytical ability

• Exposure to supplier coordination and fabrication environment
• Interest in research and product development
• Techno-commercial understanding
