Architectural Design Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

Architectural Design Engineers combine architectural design principles with engineering technology to develop building plans and systems.

They work closely with architects and other engineers to ensure that all aspects of a building’s design are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Their key duties and responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with architects to discuss and understand design requirements
• Applying engineering principles to design safe and functional building structures
• Preparing detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications
• Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create 3D models and simulations
• Performing load and stress analysis on building components to ensure structural integrity
• Inspecting building sites to ensure construction aligns with architectural plans
• Evaluating the environmental impact and efficiency of building designs
• Overseeing the work of junior design engineers and providing guidance
• Interacting with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project goals are met
• Keeping up-to-date with latest design technologies and industry trends
• Documenting all phases of the design process for future reference

Pay: ﷼7,000.00 - ﷼9,000.00 per hour
