Design Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturing - 35068

A global automotive parts manufacturing company near the Northern Dayton, OH area is looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join their facility. You will support multiple projects, focusing on meeting customer standards & goals. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of design engineering experience, specifically with 3D/2D CAD software.

Responsibilities Include:

- Support the design and development of automotive metal components, particularly frame components, chassis, braking systems, etc.

-Main point of contact between customer & company groups for project administration

-Work with suppliers – confirm expectations & requirements

-Create records of design & design changes for internal and customer use

-Work with Sales department – to achieve costing information

-Participate in meetings regarding project status with both internal departments and outside customers

Requirements Include:

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required

-Minimum 1-3 years' experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) (Design Engineering preferred)

-Strong knowledge of using 3D/2D CAD software (CATIA or Siemens NX programs preferred)

-DFMEA & GD&T

-Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment

-Basic understanding of FEA programs

-Good problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills

-Able to intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch & lift up to 25 pounds
