Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and proven experience in developing repair plans and procedures for safety-related structures. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with nuclear and industrial standards while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, and engineering integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review structural repair designs, calculations, and drawings for safety-related and non-safety-related structures.
- Prepare repair plans and procedures in accordance with CP-A1, CP-A2, ASME Section III Division 2, and ACI standards.
- Perform structural assessments, including damage evaluation, root cause analysis, and rehabilitation design.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with quality assurance programs such as NQA-1 and KEPIC QAP-1.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including QA/QC, construction, and project management.
- Support field implementation by providing technical guidance and resolving site issues.
- Review contractor submittals, method statements, and inspection reports.
- Apply Human Performance (HU) tools and promote a strong safety culture in all engineering activities.
- Ensure all deliverables meet ENEC requirements, including documentation and communication standards in English.
- Participate in design reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum X+ years of relevant experience (adjust based on your requirement).
- Experience in structural repair and rehabilitation design, preferably in nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of:
- CP-A1 / CP-A2 standards
- ASME Section III Division 2
- ACI codes (e.g., ACI 318, ACI 562)
- Familiarity with:
- NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program
- KEPIC QAP-1 requirements
- Ability to design and evaluate safety-related structural repairs.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000).
- Understanding of nuclear safety culture and human performance tools (HU Tools).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) aligned with ENEC standards.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Experience working on nuclear or high-integrity infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g., PE, Chartered Engineer) is a plus.
- Prior experience with ENEC or similar nuclear regulatory environments.
