Ford's Customer Service Division is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design for Service CAD Serviceability Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring every Ford vehicle is designed not just for performance and aesthetics, but also for optimal serviceability, ultimately driving customer satisfaction and reducing costs.
As a Design for Service CAD Serviceability Specialist, you will leverage your advanced CAD expertise to directly influence the design of future Ford vehicles from their earliest development stages. You will act as a critical bridge between product development and customer service, translating real-world service needs into actionable design improvements. Your work will directly impact ease of maintenance, and the overall cost of ownership for our customers.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in the automotive industry
Significant experience with Automotive design and development processes & whole-of-vehicle knowledge
Strong 3D CAD experience (TC Visualisation, Team Center Engineering).
Understanding of GPDS deliverables.
Experience working collaboratively and communicating with a Globally and Culturally diverse teams.
Above average proficiency with MS Office products.
Availability to work on-site as and when required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Completion of Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA-4) studies, following DPA-4 and associated E2KS processes.
Ensure program deliverables are met at each gateway for CAD data for DPA4 serviceability and service aspects against Ford specific requirements for all IMG programs
Work directly with PD engineering team on service-related issues, attending PST meetings as required for alignment and reporting.
Build CAD vehicle variants for study requirements.
Assess vehicle design for Serviceability, Accessibility & Clearance as per Ford service requirements
Update the status of each assessment in E2KS system
Attend the physical review of serviceability issues on representative prototype vehicles as requested.
Support program reviews with IMG UCS Engineers at key GPDS milestones.
Coordinate standards and requirements for Low-Speed Damageability applicable to IMG markets.
Support process improvement actions within SEO Design For Service team as well as lessons learnt database using input from multiple sources.
Participate in team meetings to update status of work assignments & for technical discussions
Collaborate with FCSD, PD & CAD engineering teams (across various locations) for effective resolution of Red/Blue issues. Provide suggestions for design optimization & possible solutions for Red issues.
