Timeline: Start in May-August 2026 - dates may be adjusted based on schedule

Hours: Minimum 32 hours per week during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Location: Hawthorne's Corporate Office located in Greensboro, NC

Compensation: Hourly Paid Internship

Position Summary | Design Intern

The Interior Design Summer Intern works closely with Vice President of Design and Interior Design Manager to assist with interior design concepts and furniture, finish and amenity selections on new development and existing owned properties meet Hawthorne standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Design Intern:

• Experience working in interior design environment or current enrollment in education in interior design preferred
• Strong design sensibility
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Experience with adobe photoshop, illustrator, indesign, sketchup or bluebeam a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities | Design intern:

• Propose furniture, artwork and accessory selections on existing properties that work with existing design elements and within budget available to refresh spaces
• Propose paint, fixture and finish selections on existing properties and new
• Work with existing amenity vendor relationships to propose amenity layouts and finish selections including but not limited to pool furniture, playgrounds, fitness equipment, dog parks and mail rooms/package lockers
• Support with material library tasks/initiatives/organization
• Assist with renderings, graphics, and presentation materials.
• Participating in project ideation and communicating the design process
• Participate in site visits when opportunities arise to observe existing conditions and construction progress.
