Design Lead - VAVE

QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Work Experience
12 to 15 years of experience in Value Engineering, Component engineering of electromechanical products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core Responsibilities:

• Expertise on VAVE concept and have good experience in handling VE projects.
• Must have completed minimum 3 major VE savings projects.
• Hands on working knowledge of Siemens NX 3D CAD software & Team Centre.
• Hands on experience in New Product Design & Development (NPI/NPD) of electro-mechanical products.
• Good knowledge in diecasting, plastics & sheet metal component design & development.
• Good Knowledge on the Seal designs, IP ratings and rubber seal materials.
• Good knowledge on material selection for the parts based on application.
• Must have experience in working with Global teams and communicating with them technically.
• Good knowledge on GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, dimensions, and structural analysis.
• Knowledge on the Engineering Change Notification process for design changes.
• Ensure design of components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
• Establish and support knowledge-sharing networks throughout the HARTING Technology Group to promote collaboration and innovation.
• Organize, conduct VAVE to ensure design / cost effectiveness and verification of ECP, in close cooperation with R&D Engineer, Project Manager, Production and Sourcing members, check for optimal feasibility and if necessary, make additions or corrections.

General Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive knowledge of VAVE.
• Proficient in project management, capable of planning and executing projects related to the development of plastics and rubber materials.
• Strong communication skills, high self-motivation, and the ability to organize independently.
• A passion for innovation and a strong drive for finding new solutions, combined with a global mindset.
• Willingness to undertake occasional business trips lasting several days.
• A solid awareness of cost considerations.
• Fluent in English.
