What this job involves:
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate the design process for construction projects from concept through completion. The successful candidate will manage design teams, ensure design quality and compliance, and facilitate seamless integration between design and construction phases.
What your day-to-day will look like: Lead multidisciplinary design teams including architects, engineers, and specialty consultants
Develop and maintain project design programs, schedules, and deliverable milestones
Review and approve design deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Ensure adherence to building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards
Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the design process
Manage design changes and coordinate approval processes
Collaborate with project managers and construction teams on constructability reviews

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
Experience with various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM at Risk)
Professional license (PE, RA) preferred
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms)
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
Knowledge of building codes and regulatory processes
Background in commercial, institutional, or infrastructure projects
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
8+ years of experience in design management or senior design roles
Proven track record managing complex construction projects ($50M+ preferred)
