About the Role

We're seeking a thoughtful and highly organized Design Operations Manager to join our expanding product design team. This role is crucial in enabling our designers to focus on delivering high-impact, user-centered solutions by establishing the systems, processes, and workflows that support and scale design excellence throughout the organization.

As the Design Operations Manager, you'll partner closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to improve collaboration, increase efficiency, and elevate the visibility and impact of design. You'll also help shape and maintain the design culture, support team rituals, and own the operational aspects of key initiatives, including onboarding, documentation, tooling, and cross-team coordination.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Streamline workflows, manage design tools, and build repeatable systems to support a high-functioning design team.
  • Improve Collaboration: Facilitate smooth collaboration between design, product, and engineering by improving upon existing processes, rituals, and expectations.
  • Design Systems Support: Partner with design and engineering to maintain and scale the design system, ensuring consistent usage and efficient updates.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Build and maintain design documentation in Confluence to ensure easy onboarding and cross-functional understanding.
  • Hiring & Onboarding: Support hiring processes and create a smooth onboarding experience for new designers.
  • Culture & Team Health: Help foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative design culture through team events, feedback loops, and process improvements.
  • Metrics & Insights: Define and track additional operational metrics that reflect design impact, team performance, and workflow health.
  • Design & Product Alignment: Collaborate with Product Operations and Design leads to align on strategies, tools, and workflows that improve user understanding and adoption, operationalizing experiences like onboarding and in-app education at scale.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Design Ops and Product Design
  • Deep understanding of design processes and cross-functional product development workflows.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience designing in Figma and working with Jira, Confluence, and Zeplin.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to balance short-term needs with long-term scalability.
  • Passion for empowering creative teams to do their best work.

Experience scaling operations in a growing product or design team.

Salary range: $120,000 - $155,000 per year
