Design Project Manager

Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the central liaison between international design firms and local consultants of record to ensure global design concepts are successfully adapted to local regulations
  • Act as the primary interface between the design team and internal departments to integrate operational, commercial, and technical requirements into the project lifecycle
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination workshops to resolve spatial and technical conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP systems
  • Manage the communication flow between external specialists and the core project team to ensure all parties are working from the most current design information
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of all design packages to ensure submissions are comprehensive, constructable, and aligned with the project brief
  • Evaluate design drawings and specifications to identify technical risks, single-source dependencies, or overly complex details that could hinder construction
  • Oversee the strategy for securing all necessary permits and statutory approvals from local government agencies and utility providers
  • Review all technical documentation intended for authority submission to ensure compliance with building codes, fire and life safety regulations, and zoning laws
  • Coordinate with external consultants to address and resolve technical objections raised by regulatory bodies during the approval process
  • Monitor the design schedule and consultant progress to ensure all deliverables are submitted according to the agreed contractual milestones
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process during the design phase to provide consultants with timely decisions and technical direction
  • Implement a rigorous design change control process to evaluate the technical and schedule impact of any proposed modifications before implementation
  • Maintain a comprehensive project record including design logs, meeting minutes, and official approval documentation to ensure full traceability


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in design management, preferably in mixed use projects.
  • Proven experience in managing architecture and design consultants.
  • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of design processes and coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
