Design Supervisor/Lead Estimator

Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled Lead Estimator/ Design Supervisor with at least 10 years of experience in the Furniture Trading industry within the UAE.

1. Key Responsibilities

● Team Leadership & Supervision:

o Lead and supervise a team of designers and estimators, ensuring projects are completed on time and to client satisfaction.

o Mentor and train junior staff, helping them improve their design and estimation skills.

o Assign tasks and ensure efficient workload distribution across the team.

● Client Interaction & Relationship Management:

o Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure designs meet expectations.

o Conduct meetings with clients to present design concepts, estimations, and revisions.

o Build and maintain strong client, supplier, and contractor relationships.

● Quality Assurance:

o Ensure designs and estimates adhere to company standards and client requirements.

o Review product specifications and ensure their accuracy and feasibility.

o Maintain high-quality standards for design execution and final delivery.

● Collaborative Design & Estimation:

o Collaborate with sales, procurement, and installation teams for seamless project execution.

o Lead design reviews and estimations for large, complex projects.

o Ensure design concepts are practical, cost-effective, and meet project requirements.

● Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

o Stay updated with industry trends and materials, applying innovations in design processes.

o Suggest process improvements to increase design efficiency and project accuracy.

o Contribute to enhancing department workflows and overall project delivery.

● Supplier Management:

o Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms for the company.

o Maintain strong relationships with suppliers through clear communication and prompt issue resolution.

o Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth procurement.

2. Requirements

● Experience:

o Minimum of 10 years of experience in the furniture trading industry.

o Proven experience leading teams and managing projects in commercial furniture design and estimation.

o Strong background in handling large-scale projects with high-quality standards.

● Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Google SketchUp for 3D modeling and rendering of office interiors and furniture.

o Strong experience in AutoCAD for 2D drawings and space planning.

o Advanced knowledge of furniture specification and estimation processes.

● Skills & Competencies:

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent communication and client management abilities.

o Ability to handle complex projects, with a keen eye for detail and quality control.

o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

● Industry Knowledge:

o Extensive knowledge of commercial furniture design and the UAE market.

o Up-to-date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies.

3. Experience

● Furniture Estimation:

o At least 10 years of experience in estimating commercial furniture products and creating detailed specifications.

● Furniture Trading in UAE:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the UAE's furniture trading industry, understanding local market demands and regulations.

4. Additional Information:
