Designer Assistant -Women's Apparel

Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Women's Clothing Designer Assistant to support our fashion design team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative women's apparel collections, assisting in various stages of the design process from conceptualization to production. Duties

• Collaborate with senior designers to develop sketches and illustrations using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Assist in creating technical drawings and CAD designs for new clothing lines.
• Support the product lifecycle management process by organizing samples, tracking design revisions, and maintaining accurate records.
• Participate in trend research, mood board creation, and color theory analysis to inform design concepts.
• Help prepare presentation boards and visual displays for fashion retail showcases or internal meetings.
• Assist with merchandising efforts by coordinating fabric swatches, trims, and accessories.
• Support the team during fittings and review sessions, providing feedback on fit and style adjustments.
• Perform graphic design tasks for promotional materials or social media content related to upcoming collections.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs including Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with CAD software and product lifecycle management tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of fashion design principles, garment construction, and sewing techniques (including sewing machine operation).
• Strong understanding of color theory, fabric types, and textile properties.
• Background or interest in fashion retail, styling, or merchandising is a plus.
• Excellent illustration skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of theater or costume design is advantageous but not required.
• Prior experience or coursework in graphic design or fashion illustration is desirable. This position provides valuable industry experience for individuals passionate about women's fashion design and eager to develop their skills within a creative team environment.
