Job Overview:

PRVN Consultants, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented Designer II or Senior Designer I or II (CAD – Structural).

· The Designer II position is in either our Iowa City, IA; Rock Island, IL; or Lafayette, IN offices. As a Designer II (2 to 5 years’ experience) you will be the PRoVeN solution to support our efforts in delivering energy efficient and sustainable solutions to the complex energy challenges faced by our industrial, institutional, and utility clients.

· The Senior Designer I or II position is in either our Iowa City, IA; Rock Island, IL; Lafayette, IN; or Milwaukee, WI offices. As a Senior Designer I (3 to 10 years’ experience) or Senior Designer II (7 to 12 years’ experience) you will be the PRoVeN solution to drive our efforts in delivering energy efficient and sustainable solutions to the complex energy challenges faced by our industrial, institutional, and utility clients.

Knowledge & Experience:

· Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer-Aided Design, Drafting, engineering technology, or related field that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (EAC/ABET). CAD Certification(s) preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of CAD and BIM software and associated technologies (See list below). Preference is given to Revit. Knowledge of Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenPlant Modeler, Bentley OpenBuildings a plus.
• Experience utilizing 3D laser scanning equipment and processing point cloud data from 3D laser scanning a plus. Preference is given to Faro Laser Scanners, Faro Scene, Clearedge 3D Edgewise.

· We’re looking for designers with proven experience — Along with your resume, please provide 2–3 PDF samples of CAD design work. These may include design drawings, design models, as-built plans, or other technical drawings. Be sure to indicate your role in each project and the software used (e.g., MicroStation, Revit, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities:

• As a Designer II act as Designer on assigned projects. Responsible for adhering to the quality of drawing production of the project and following company or client CAD/BIM standards.

· As a Senior Designer I or II, act as Design Lead on assigned projects. Responsible for improving the quality of drawing production of the project and adhering to company or client CAD/BIM standards. Provide input in the advancement of established CAD and BIM company standards.

• Read and comprehend blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and/or sketches for Structural Department for design of industrial-related structures, platforms, and buildings. Interpret and convert hand-drawn or electronic engineering drawings, sketches, and markup into technical drawings or models using CAD or BIM software.
• Develop Structural models and Structural drawings based upon markup and sketches provided by engineers.
• Develop sections, elevations, and details independently.
• Position may require periodic travel to client project sites and offices for meetings, construction observation, to assist in field data gathering, confirming existing conditions, and to conduct 3D laser scanning of client facilities and project areas.
• Process 3D laser scans, create point cloud using software, and develop 3D BIM models. Remain current in latest CAD/BIM/3D Scanning technology.
• Coordinate Structural design and Structural models with team members of other disciplines.
