About the Role

We are looking for a Desk Head – Spot Trading to lead our Spot Desk and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Treasury franchise.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven trader with strong market intuition, technical depth, and the ambition to move beyond pure execution — someone who can combine trading excellence, business development, and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage the Spot Trading Desk, ensuring efficient execution, robust risk management, and sustainable P&L generation.
• Actively trade and oversee FX spot and money market products, with a strong grasp of rates dynamics and market microstructure.
• Develop trading-led client solutions and contribute to revenue growth through market intelligence and idea generation.
• Partner closely with ALM, Balance Sheet Management, Sales, IT, and Risk to align trading activity with the bank’s broader strategy.
• Represent the desk in senior committees and contribute to Treasury-wide transformation initiatives.

Derivatives, Rates & Market Intelligence (Strong Value-Add ):

• Ability to think in derivatives, even when operating primarily in spot markets.
• Prior exposure to option flows, with an understanding of how volatility, skew, and positioning influence spot and forward dynamics.
• Solid knowledge of the rates market, curve behavior, and cross-asset transmission.
• Ability to convert derivative-driven signals into improved execution, positioning, and risk awareness.

Technology, Algorithms & Trading Infrastructure (Highly Valued) :

• Strong interest in algorithmic trading and systematic execution strategies.
• Familiarity with algo-driven market making, smart order routing, or execution optimization is considered a meaningful advantage.
• Hands-on experience with Murex is a significant asset, particularly in pricing, risk management, trade lifecycle, and P&L attribution.
• Ability to work closely with IT and quantitative teams to translate trading needs into system and model enhancements.

Strategy, Ecosystem & Future Banking :

• Strong curiosity around Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and ecosystem-driven financial models.
• Ability to bridge traditional Treasury and trading practices with next-generation banking architectures.
• View Treasury as not only a control function, but as a scalable platform for liquidity, FX, and funding solutions.

Profile We Are Looking For :

• Proven experience in FX Spot Trading, with exposure to rates, options, or derivatives-driven environments.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant and comparable experience in FX Spot Trading, Treasury, or closely related trading roles.
• A business development mindset with strong commercial instincts.
• Deep understanding of liquidity, balance sheet dynamics, and market risk.
• Leadership capability to build, mentor, and elevate a trading team.
• Comfortable operating across markets, regulation, and technology.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
