Desktop Support Technician

We are seeking a motivated Desktop Technician to join our IT support team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with foundational IT experience to develop their technical skills in a professional environment. You'll be responsible for providing hands-on technical support to end users, maintaining computer systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support for Windows 10/11 workstations and common business applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software
  • Set up new employee workstations including PC builds, peripheral connections, and account provisioning
  • Manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Perform system imaging, software deployments, and patch management
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate with vendors for repairs
  • Document technical issues and resolutions in ticketing system
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as appropriate
  • Assist with IT projects including system upgrades and migrations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in desktop support, help desk, or IT technician role

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Ability to troubleshoot common hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, monitors)
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory user management

  • Willingness to learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant IT certifications
  • Experience with remote support tools
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (iOS/Android)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems
  • Basic PowerShell or scripting knowledge
  • Understanding of IT security best practices

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working at a desk and with computer equipment for extended periods
  • May require occasional ladder use for cable management or equipment installation
  • Ability to work in various environments (office, data center, warehouse)

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional after-hours work for system maintenance or urgent issues. This will be an optional hybrid with the ability to work from home for part of the schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
