We are seeking a motivated Desktop Technician to join our IT support team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with foundational IT experience to develop their technical skills in a professional environment. You'll be responsible for providing hands-on technical support to end users, maintaining computer systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support for Windows 10/11 workstations and common business applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software
- Set up new employee workstations including PC builds, peripheral connections, and account provisioning
- Manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Perform system imaging, software deployments, and patch management
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate with vendors for repairs
- Document technical issues and resolutions in ticketing system
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as appropriate
- Assist with IT projects including system upgrades and migrations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in desktop support, help desk, or IT technician role
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, monitors)
- Basic understanding of Active Directory user management

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
- Experience with VoIP phone systems
- Basic PowerShell or scripting knowledge
- Understanding of IT security best practices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working at a desk and with computer equipment for extended periods
- May require occasional ladder use for cable management or equipment installation
- Ability to work in various environments (office, data center, warehouse)

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional after-hours work for system maintenance or urgent issues. This will be an optional hybrid with the ability to work from home for part of the schedule
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
