Developer Automation & Azure Platform

Job Purpose:

The Developer Automation and Azure Platform is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automation processes and cloud infrastructure solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This job ensures scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and services. The Developer Automation and Azure Platform plays a crucial part in optimising cloud operations, deploying automated processes, and driving continuous improvement within the Azure environment.

Responsibilities:

•Design and develop automated workflows, scripts, and tools to streamline development, deployment, and operational tasks across Azure environments.

•Leverage automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM/Bicep templates to create Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.

•Implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps and other related automation tools.

•Automate routine tasks to reduce manual interventions and enhance system performance.

•Design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions on the Azure platform, ensuring best practices for cloud governance, security, and compliance.

•Manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases, ensuring availability and performance.

•Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Architecture teams to monitor and optimize Azure services for cost and performance efficiency.

•Ensure effective logging, monitoring, and alerting across the Azure infrastructure to detect and respond to incidents promptly.

•Provide operational support for cloud-based applications and services, identifying and resolving any platform-related issues.

•Support the integration of Azure solutions with on-premises infrastructure where necessary.

•Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments by applying automation and configuration management tools.

•Promote DevOps culture by driving continuous integration, delivery, and deployment automation processes.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality, automated cloud solutions.

•Work within Agile frameworks to deliver incremental improvements to automation, cloud infrastructure, and platform management.

•Ensure all Azure resources comply with organizational security policies and industry best practices.

•Work closely with security teams to implement secure coding and automation practices.

•Regularly assess and improve security measures across Azure environments, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.

•Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.

•Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

•Proven experience in cloud computing, specifically Microsoft Azure.

•Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation, scripting, and platform management.

•Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate

•Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

•Certifications in relevant automation tools or DevOps methodologies.
