Position Overview:

The Support Center for Child Advocates (CHILD ADVOCATES) is seeking a passionate, empathic, storyteller to join our Development and Communications Team. This position reports to the Director of Development & Communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Relations:

  • Support donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you calls, recognition activities, and assisting in scheduling donor meetings as needed.
  • Prepare the Executive Director and Director of Development & Communications for donor outreach activities and ensuring coordination with the other departments.
  • Answer current and prospective donor inquiries; maintain relationships with existing donors through regular contact.

Content Creation:

  • Draft and produce various communication materials such as newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and website content to inform stakeholders and promote the organization while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Develop presentation materials for Executive Directors and Director of Development to use with donors.

Digital Management:

  • Manage and maintain social media accounts, website content, and email campaigns.

Event Support:

  • Support the coordination and organization of fundraising events by managing logistics, budgets, and materials.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure cohesive messaging and to meet strategic objectives.

Grant Support:

  • Assist with reporting, tracking and documentation for government funding.

Administrative Support:

  • Support all members of Development Team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Excels in customer service and is detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Applies a careful planning and systematic approach to processes and procedures and demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexible and adaptable, a team player.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field and two or more years of fundraising or marketing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to be flexible and creative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database preferred.
  • Ability to operate within fixed deadlines while balancing multiple priorities; and to manage projects independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, including social media platforms, email marketing software, and content management systems.
  • Willingness and ability to attend evening and off hour donor/events.
  • Knowledge of advocacy work and legal representation and/or interest in Law, Child Welfare desirable

Salary Range:

$52,000 - $56,000/ year
