JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Development & Communications Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt 25 Hours/Week

Job Status - Part-Time

Pay Rate: $25/hour

1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

The Development & Communications Coordinator plays an important role by providing support to further the fundraising goals for Paso Robles Youth Arts Center. The Development & Communications Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director and participates in all fundraising activities including major fundraisers, small fundraisers, donor relations, public relations, grant writing, direct mail appeals, special events, marketing/communications, and more.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Donor Relations, Tracking, Database and Technology

● Assist in making donor acknowledgement telephone calls

● Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing donors and sponsors

● Assist in maintaining confidential data base with foundation, corporate and individual donor records

● Conduct donor prospect research to identify prospective donors and funders to be used in development projects

● Assist with grant/proposal writing

● Create reports and mailing lists

● Use online auction software to organize fundraisers

● Coordinate production and mailing of Annual Appeal Campaign

Events

● Coordinate fundraising events and day-of event logistics

● Engage volunteers and sponsors

● Prepare marketing and print materials

● Assemble and distribute media and donor kits

Outreach

● Lead weekly tours

● Attend speaking and service club events

● Represent Paso Robles Youth Arts Center in the community

Communications

● Design marketing materials, newsletters, donor communications, acknowledgements

● Create and/or maintain social media content, calendar, and postings

● Ongoing review and update of website content

● Maintain accurate records in company’s CRM databaseOther Development &

● Perform other job duties as assigned by the Executive Director, with or without notice to serve organizational needs

5. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, & TRAINING

● At least 2 years of non-profit administrative/fundraising experience

● Experience using donor databases/CRMs

● Experience in successful grant writing

● Experience working with donors, volunteers and the public in nonprofit setting

● Experience planning, publicizing, and implementing major fundraising events

● Proficiency with financial documents such as budgets, and profit and loss reports

● Proficient (or willing to learn): Google (Gmail, Chrome, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Forms, permissions, sharing, etc), cloud-based file management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
