TEENS, Inc. is a Nederland based nonprofit organization that supports, educates, and empowers youth and their families to make healthy choices and thrive. TEENS, Inc. programming includes an accredited high school, an early childhood education center, multiple youth employment programs, a multitude of recreation and outdoor leadership activities, & many more community-wide initiatives for people of all ages. Programs are based out of two facilities - TEENS, Inc. and New Explorers Learning Center, both based in Nederland, CO.
JOB SUMMARY: In partnership with the Executive Director, staff and Board of Directors, the Development Director is responsible for leading the effort to raise $1,500,000 through grants, fundraising and donations. The Development Director will be responsible for all activities relating to grant management, acquisition and reporting, communications and individual and corporate donor cultivation. This position can be between 30 and 40 hours / week.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop, implement and lead a comprehensive donor cultivation and acquisition plan.
- Produce donor solicitations for annual appeals as needed.
- Manage all aspects of donor relationships including acquisition, cultivation, stewardship, recognition, and tax receipts.
- Track restricted donations and provide documentation for the annual audit.
- Cultivate relationships with grant funders and foundations including prospective and current funders.
- Research opportunities for organizational and programmatic growth and development.
- Manage the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant concepts, proposals, and reports to funders.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure grant deliverables are met and conformity to fidelity of Statement of Work (Action Plan).
- Assist in the development and analysis of activities assessing the effectiveness of program expectations.
- Collaborate across departments to gather accurate and relevant information to build and write dynamic proposals for each funder.
- Attend in-person funder events and receptions when able.
- Work with the Assistant Director to ensure all aspects of financial tracking adheres to grant requirements, annual audit and tax filings.
- Oversee TEENS, Inc. Communications plan including producing monthly newsletters, press releases, website content, donor communications and reports.
- Lead the planning and execution of special events, donor gatherings, and volunteer recognition.
- Manage communications relating to events (promoting, social media, thanking participants and sponsors).
- Track donations and fundraising goals on a monthly and annual basis – database input and maintenance.

- Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and balance numerous projects simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years of experience in fundraising and marketing
- Experience in grant writing
- Experience in community relations
- Experience in public speaking
- Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with relational databases, experience with Bloomerang a plus.
Pay & Benefits:
TEENS, Inc. offers competitive compensation and benefits.
- Compensation range for the Development Director ranges from $65,000-$90,000/annually depending on experience and negotiated hours (30 - 40).
