Developmental Homes Licensing Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Licensing Specialist with strong leadership and collaboration skills. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team while supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and overseeing provider homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership aligned with Fostering Hope’s mission and values
  • Participate in all scheduled PCSP (Person-Centered Service Plan) team meetings; ensure punctuality, preparedness, and timely follow-through
  • Conduct interviews and home studies for prospective provider families
  • Perform monthly home visits to ensure quality care and compliance
  • Maintain accurate documentation and client financial records
  • Train and support providers through onboarding and ongoing development
  • Complete incident reports and communicate with appropriate departments
  • Review placement profiles and coordinate appropriate member placements
  • Assist families through licensing/certification processes
  • Write home studies, renewals, amendments, and behavioral plans (BBPs)
  • Ensure timely authorizations and compliance with service specifications
  • Participate in committees, planning sessions, and additional assigned duties

Minimum RequirementsLicensing & Certifications

  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean 39-month driving record
  • Ability to obtain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Article 9 Training (or ability to obtain)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Adult/Child/Infant)
  • Clearance from Department of Economic Security (DES) and related registries

Education & Experience (One of the Following Required)

Option 1:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, special education, etc.)
  • + 2 years management/supervisory experience in human services

Option 2:

  • 5+ years leadership/management experience serving ID/DD or similar populations

Option 3:

  • 2+ years direct experience with ID/DD population
  • Meet QIDP requirements (42 C.F.R. § 483.430)
  • Licensed/certified in Arizona as one of the following:
  • RN, LCSW, Psychologist, OT/PT, Speech Pathologist, Dietitian, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Organizational, documentation, and time-management abilities
  • Basic math and computer proficiency

Work Environment

Pay: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
