Developmental Specialist Adult Life Program

  • Monday-Friday 8:00AM -5:00PM

DS will advance the mission of DWI while delivering high-quality services, ensuring compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining accurate records, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided. The position ensures they meet high standards of quality and compliance. This role includes creating a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all individuals served. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills and be dedicated to advocating for the rights and needs of all participants.


Our Developmental Specialists:

  • Are committed to helping individuals achieve their goals in an environment where they feel included, valued, and respected.
  • Oversee the growth and development of individuals with developmental disabilities through data analysis, program planning, and implementation.
  • Provide guidance and support to skills trainers through mentoring, observation, and feedback
  • Assist with client needs in times of crisis using de-escalation techniques and positive support.
  • Provide support when staffing issues occur

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education, early childhood special education, speech, and
    language pathology, applied behavioral analysis, psychology, physical therapy,
    occupational therapy, social work, or therapeutic recreation. the Human Services Field or
    bachelor's degree and successful completion of any designated competency examination.
  • 5 years of supervised experience working with individuals with developmental
    disabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills.
  • Ability to train, lead, and inspire staff.
  • Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
