Horizon Tech is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer, for our healthcare client based in Canada. An ideal candidate should have a strong background in AWS Cloud infrastructure, automation, and security. The ideal candidate should be adept in managing complex cloud environments and optimising them for efficiency, security, and compliance. You will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Python or any other programming language. You will work with developers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage AWS Cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and resilience.
- Implement and maintain load-balancing strategies to optimise performance and reliability.
- Oversee cloud security and compliance, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Integrate communication platforms like Twilio and SendGrid into our systems.
- Facilitate the setup of local development environments for streamlined development processes.
- Automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement CI/CD pipelines, enhancing software delivery.
- Your role will involve implementing advanced load-balancing techniques, ensuring robust communication capabilities with Twilio and SendGrid, and setting up local development environments.
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Strong proficiency in AWS services including AWS SAM, Lambda, and IAM.
- Develop and implement backup strategies and detailed incident reports to ensure robust and resilient systems.
- Involved in corporate security matters, including email security, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and basic SOC operations.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in AWS Cloud infrastructure management and load balancing.
- Strong understanding of cloud security measures and compliance standards.
- Proficient in communication technologies such as Twilio and SendGrid.
- Capability in setting up and managing local development environments.
- Expertise in AWS Infrastructure automation using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proven track record with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
- Solid experience with Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, JIRA, and Sentry.
- Strong understanding of monitoring dashboards, especially CloudWatch dashboards.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of information security (EDR, Email security).
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge and understanding of Linux web servers like Nginx, Apache.
