DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations Management

Manage, provision, and maintain virtual and physical servers running both Windows Server and various Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for all systems, including routine backups and failover testing.

Implement and manage monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, ELK stack) to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.

Administer network services, including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs.

Deployment & Automation

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI for rapid and reliable application deployments.

Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for repeatable, reliable environment provisioning.

Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to automate server setup, maintenance, and consistency.

Web Services & Networking

Configure and manage Load Balancers (e.g., HAProxy, NGINX, AWS ELB/ALB, Azure Load Balancer) for traffic distribution, high availability, and performance optimization.

Administer web servers (e.g., IIS on Windows, Apache/NGINX on Linux) and application containers.

Manage domain names, SSL/TLS certificates, and hosting environments (cloud or on-premise).

Security & Compliance

Implement and enforce security best practices for all servers and infrastructure components.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Manage user access, roles, and permissions across various systems and platforms.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role.

Proven expertise in managing and administering both Windows Server and Linux operating systems in a production environment.

Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Solid understanding of Load Balancing concepts and practical experience with load balancing solutions.

Proficiency with at least one scripting language (Bash/Shell, PowerShell, Python).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly desirable.

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a strong plus.

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
