DevOps Engineer

A DevOps engineer role with a WHMCS panel is an IT position focused on automating and managing the systems that run the WHMCS client management platform, often using a combination of DevOps best practices and specific knowledge of the panel itself. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for WHMCS-related code, automating infrastructure provisioning (potentially including the servers that run WHMCS), monitoring the platform's performance, implementing security best practices, and ensuring high availability. Responsibilities

• CI/CD and Automation: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment of software updates for the WHMCS platform.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of the infrastructure that hosts the WHMCS panel.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems to track the health, performance, and security of the WHMCS environment, responding to issues to minimize downtime.
• System Maintenance and Security: Implement and manage security best practices, perform system updates and patching, and ensure data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and functional.
• WHMCS-specific management: The role may also involve direct administration and optimization of the WHMCS panel itself, including configuration, user management, and module deployments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows, troubleshoot problems, and ensure smooth releases.

Required skills and knowledge

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Familiarity with WHMCS and its architecture is a strong plus.
