DEV OPS ENGINEER
LOCATION: BOSTON
THIS IS A LOCAL ROLE/ HYBRID - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN THE BOSTON OFFICE 2-3 days a week.

The Role:

This role is at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability and software delivery. It entails ensuring seamless operations,

enhancing system reliability and accelerating software deployment while addressing disaster recovery scenarios working with a

partner’s Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) offering. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, automating processes and

driving continuous improvement are expected. The hybrid infrastructure cross over for this position is responsible for

implementing, managing, and monitoring enterprise windows infrastructure. The role focuses on co-located infrastructure but

stretches to include Azure cloud activities. Expertise in operating systems, Active Directory, and enterprise-class Applications.

Role Responsibilities:

Design, deploy and maintain robust infrastructure components leveraging infrastructure as code (terraform) in the

provisioning and management of resources

Optimize infrastructure resource allocation, scalability and fault tolerance.

Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual intervention

Set up monitoring tools to track system health

Define and measure service-level indicators and service-level objectives

  • Monitor application performance, latency and resource utilization

Create actionable alerts and dashboards

Automate incident response, monitoring and alerting

Implement security best practices across the infrastructure stack

Implement security controls, vulnerability assessment and access management

Work with an Azure cloud platform to manage resources

Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline for efficient software delivery

Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and deployment

Contribute to establishing a culture of continuous integration, delivery and improvement

Bridge gaps between development, operations and other teams

Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, SOC 1, SOC2, etc.)

Diagnose and develop fixes to implement quickly and efficiently for production incidents

Maintain all Windows servers and domains including user administration and system security.

Actively monitor Windows systems to ensure optimal system operation and availability and take corrective action when

necessary.

Design software and hardware configurations for servers and desktop systems.

Install, upgrade, and maintain Windows servers and desktops.

Recommend and implement process improvement activities.

Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hour and weekend support.

Resolve difficult problems when escalated

Recommend and implement new technologies

Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree encouraged in one of the following fields; computer science or related field

Azure Certifications preferred

Minimum 4 years of experience in Information Technology

At least 4 years of systems engineering, software engineering or DevOps engineering experience

Experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform

Experience with vulnerability scanners and remediation

Experience with Azure cloud services

Familiar with containerization

Experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory

Experience with VMWare, Enterprise Class Servers and Storage

Knowledge of Citrix services

Experience with ISO/SSAE16/NIST or equivalent compliance is preferred

Knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, managed switches and routers

Familiarity with ITIL framework

May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of

educational requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

Effectively work and contribute as part of a team

Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently

A working understanding of code and script (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.)

Client relations skills

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products

Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours

per week

Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers

The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or

alarms) in multiple forms; in person speech; telephone, other remote speech

Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use

of computers.

At ENGIE Impact, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining pay. Actual pay will vary depending on factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. All offers will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal minimum wage requirements.


The target pay range for this position is $71,000-$120,000
