Job Summary
The DevOps Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation strategies. This role bridges development and operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems while leading a team of DevOps engineers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the DevOps team.
- Define DevOps strategy, roadmap, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, and IT teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations and training plans.
2. CI/CD & Automation
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Improve deployment frequency and reduce failure rates.
3. Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Architect and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation.
4. System Monitoring & Reliability
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Ensure system uptime and performance optimization.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA).
5. Security & Compliance
- Implement DevSecOps practices.
- Ensure secure configurations, access control, and vulnerability management.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and policies.
6. Containerization & Orchestration
- Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
- Optimize container deployment and scaling.
7. Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Promote DevOps culture across the organization.
- Continuously improve workflows and operational efficiency.
- Introduce new tools and technologies where beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in DevOps / System Engineering.
- 2+ years in a leadership or senior role.
Technical Skills
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Scripting: Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- IaC Tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
