Diagnostic Technician

· Assisting (not training) Technician Mechanics in performing technical activities.

· Diagnoses, repairs to specifications in line manufacturers standards and replace vehicle components – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

· Checking for problems in newer vehicles with testing equipment connected to the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU).

· Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include Employees and Customers on an as-required basis.

· Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

· Testing existing and repaired systems.

· Determine the amount of work needed on the vehicle and communicate to the Service Advisor.

· Liaison with Manufacturers and Parts Advisors.

· May also be responsible for quality and road test.

· Identify any additional repairs which was not specified in the job card and communicate to the Service Advisor.

· Assist for the maintenance of equipments in the workshop.

· Provide assistance to the workers in case any difficulties occur while performing their jobs.

· Maintains an organized and neat bay.

· Report to the Service Manager any technical problems occurs.

· Perform other duties as requested by the Service Manager/Workshop Manager.
