Job Summary:
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating dialysis machines, monitoring patients undergoing dialysis treatment, and maintaining equipment in accordance with hospital protocols and patient care standards. The technician works under the supervision of a registered nurse or nephrologist to ensure the safe and effective delivery of dialysis therapy to patients with kidney failure or chronic kidney disease.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Monitoring
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment by measuring vital signs, assessing access sites, and reviewing patient history.
- Monitor patients throughout the dialysis process to ensure safety and comfort.
- Recognize and respond to signs of complications during dialysis (e.g., hypotension, cramping, nausea).
- Record and report any changes in the patient's condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
2. Dialysis Machine Operation
- Set up and prime dialysis machines prior to treatment.
- Monitor machine function during dialysis, ensuring proper blood flow and dialysate composition.
- Disinfect and maintain dialysis machines and water treatment systems following each session.
3. Equipment & Infection Control
- Follow strict infection control procedures to prevent contamination and cross-infection.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions to biomedical or technical support.
4. Documentation
- Accurately document treatment details, vital signs, and patient responses in medical records or electronic health systems.
- Maintain logs of machine use, maintenance, and sterilization as per hospital protocols.
5. Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with nurses, nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.
- Educate patients and families about the dialysis process, dietary restrictions, and care of access sites.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a certified dialysis technician training program.
- Certification by a recognized body.
- 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (hospital experience is an advantage).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of dialysis principles and procedures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to medical emergencies.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist in lifting patients or equipment.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
