Diesel Engine Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair diesel-powered machinery used at construction sites. The candidate should ensure optimal performance of engines and equipment with minimal downtime and follow safety standards strictly.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines used in:
• Excavators
• Loaders
• Tippers
• DG sets
• Compressors
• Construction machinery
• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues
• Overhaul engines, replace defective parts, and conduct performance testing
• Maintain service and repair records
• Ensure machinery is operational as per site schedule
• Assist in breakdown repairs during emergency situations
• Follow safety rules and site safety protocols
• Coordinate with site engineers and store team for spare parts
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
• Perform minor and major repairs
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on including inspection and oil changes
• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in workstation
• Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with Machine and plan repairs
• Perform regular diagnostic tests on Hoist Engine, Hopper Engine, Earth Ramer,Vibrator,needle and Hoist Fixing.
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on Machine

Requirements & Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in construction equipment maintenance
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics & electrical systems
• Ability to read service manuals and technical drawings
• Physically fit and able to work at construction sites
• Willing to work extended hours if required
